Heroic Significance
Significant figure in Kenya's independence struggle. Field Marshal of the Mau Mau, played a crucial role in resisting British colonial rule. Highest-ranking leader among the Meru side of the uprising, led about 2,000 fighters who survived Operation Anvil. His leadership, alongside Dedan Kimathi, was instrumental in the Mau Mau's fight for land and freedom. Decorated with the Order of Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS) after independence.
